It’s long past time to let everyone know that I am still moving and as of yet, have not assumed room temperature!

I’ve been mostly working on wiring, so not much to show in pictures. I’m drafting what I hope will be the final version of the main wiring diagram/schematic to help the next owner see and understand the modifications that were made to the ’56 wiring and how the new additional circuits were added. I’m also visually inspecting wire terminations and making a few routing changes to improve the neatness of the added bundles.

The only other task completed was to install the rear seat and side panels. The fit was very tight and the bench protrudes slightly beyond the front edge of the cross-support. That is the reason the small piece of wood paneling between the console and the cushion. I’ll have to shorten the console a little, or make some type of barrier between the seat and the console panels to protect the vinyl from sharp edges.

  1. I know I've said it before, but that interior looks awesome Gary ! I am curious to see the headliner,is it done ?
Since you are rewiring, and adding components to the electical system, maybe you can draft a wiring diagram that can help a Plymouth owner in Norway as well ? he,he

  3. Geir, the headliner is installed and I'll take some pictures showing more detail.

I'm working on wiring diagrams and hook-up charts right now, but still have lots of work to do. I keep finding things that need to be better designed and wires routed differently.
I'm also verifying wire sizes and colors as I go along and working alone is very time consuming.

Since my son will probably be inheriting the car, I'm doing my best to document the configuration so he will be able to see where to look if and when problems arise.

I will gladly share everything I've done, after I first let someone knowledgeable look at my work and verify that the added circuits are safe and protected properly. The limits of my electrical knowledge and skills were tested many times!

  4. Thanks Gary. My knowledge to elecrical systems are limited too, even though the wiring in such an old car should be fairly simle, the upgrading, and adding modern components can make the job a challenge..
